World Cup fever

Everything is turning green and yellow.

The World Cup is about to begin. Brazil is a five-time champion. Everything in Brazil stops during game time (really). Nearly every Brazilian knows the first name of every player on the futebol team that will represent Brazil. The street vendors are making a killing selling knock-off jerseys. Huge street parties break out after Brazil wins a game. You can hear the progress of a game without a television or radio – just listen to the shouts and cries coming from every window in the neighborhood (and every car on the road).

We have already booked which game will be watched at who’s house.

Calm down. Calm down. We have nearly a month to go before the craziness.

Stay tuned. You can follow along at home here.

(And if you think this Cup will be big - just wait until 2014!)
