Call me sour grapes

OK - so it has no relation to the post -- but are they not the cutest things you have ever seen!!?

I love luxury as much as the next guy (OK, maybe less...). But how much austentatiousness do you need to feel comfortable? The gap between the rich and the poor in Brazil is alarming.

I'm sticking with us regular folks.

To make my point - check this out. Who affords THAT house!? Follow the link.

While I do like modern styled homes, sometimes they include a lot of wasted space. This is a perfect example. All that height and wall area also adds to its austentatious feel. So much for a little beach cottage... I think the extreme brand obsession bothers/annoys me most though!

Modern doesn't agree with me, but I could take a vacation tho this house. As far as living there...it would make me really grouchy.

My friends in Austin had an amazing home that was 100% modern, but the agent totally redecorated it to sell it. She said nobody like modern to actually LIVE in, only to look at.

I'm more annoyed with the snootiness of brands, too, and not wanting to go to the feira.

So we can take this book off your wish list?

It's actually a lovely book, with a number of gorgeous houses. Brazil's had very significant modernist architectural influence.

This house is NOTHING. My daughter-in-law work with a realitor on the Bara. she just listed a house for 12 millio.... it has an 8 car garage.... now who needs 8 cars.... a cinama inside, a full gym, an olympic sized pool.... who needs it.
I agree with Jennifer, it is too stark, to tranparent, cold

Have you seen the show "Mulheres Ricas" yet? My new tragic addiction. It's revolting, but excellent to make fun of.

The photo of the babies are super cute!!
