Martinis at airports

It's the holiday season.  Lots of folks are traveling through airports.

Check out this gorilla advertizing campaign by Absolut vodka.

I gotta tell ya.  As a gay man, I have been specifically targeted by the Absolut folks for YEARS.  I can smell a promotional campaign as soon as I enter a bar.

This one is great. And you better believe I would have snatched up that bottle the first time around.

This is a very interesting social experiment. Which is stronger-- the desire for a free bottle of vodka, or an inherent sense that one should not take someone else's 'luggage', especially in full view of everyone else. Add that to the tension of getting your bags before going through the customs and immigration line, what a doozy. Would you really take it? :)

Fiona - I would take the bottle and begin pouring for everyone waiting. LOL! I would just be doing what everyone else was thinking.

Anita - The term "Gorilla" is used for very unconventional marketing strategies. They are often more like performance art than ads, but they get the message out. These days companies try very hard to get YouTube videos to go viral which carry their message.

Oh, I thought it should be "guerrilla". Ok, then.
