Will you marry me?

Why is this so difficult to understand?

Luiz and I have been "married" three times - but as of now none are legal... sigh.

Jim,

This is a great video, it did brought me to tears...good for them, VIVA ARGENTINA, we all need to follow their steps and the Canadians and Massachusetts, Connecticut, Iowa etc...
It is not rocket science, it is?
I just don't get the church getting involved in the issue and being against gay marriage, once marriage is the conservative, responsible, stable thing to do.
The church should be pushing for GAY MARRIAGE and not against it.
Actually, truth of the matter, they should stay the hell away from the subject all together, hence separation of CHURCH and STATE.
Roger Williams fled Boston to found Rhode Island, 35 miles to the south in 1635, because he preached SEPARATION BETWEEN CHURCH AND STATE, the founding fathers were all for separation of Church and State, this should be a settled matter.
Church is always trouble because they have their own agenda and they manipulate the words on the Bible to get what they want/need.
Marriage is about being a citizen with equal rights, you should be able to go to city hall, get your marriage license PERIOD, and start enjoying ALL the same rights, tax breaks, retirement, health benefits etc...

By the way, great topic JIM

Cheers

Ray

Saw this on another site and saw it fitting:

10 Reasons Why Gay Marriage is Wrong (SARCASM!)

01) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.

02) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.

03) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.

04) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.

05) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.

06) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.

07) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.

08) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.

09) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.

10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

I want to share this on facebook, via your page. You need that option on your blog!

Thank you both.

Rachel, e-mail me with the info I need to do as you request. I am ignorant in these matters - but wish to be educated.

Yay for Argentina! That is a great video. The simplest ways often say it the best don't they?

Ah hahahahaha! Rachel that list is great!

Jim - you have done it again. You always find videos that speak so well the truths we all should embrace.

Rachel - that list is spot on and wonderful.

Praying for the day that marriage is just marriage, not gay, straight, etc.
